My Cook Kits

A week ago, John Abela over at Redwood Outdoors did a video on his UL cook kit and got me inspired.  So I decided to do a video on my current cook kits.  Unfortunately that’s just the time my camera ran out of power and I couldn’t find the charger for a week.  Well now that my camera is all jucied up, I got my videos together!

The parts of my Two Man Cook Kit are:

  1. AntiGravity Gear 3 Cup Pot – 4oz (3.8 listed)
  2. AntiGravity Gear 3 Cup Pot Cozy – 1oz
  3. Open Country Pot Gripper – 1.2oz (1.2 listed)

  2. Homemade Pot Cozy – 1oz
  3. Neoprene Lid and Pot Grabber – 1.2oz
  4. Homemade Windscreen – .1oz
  5. Open Flame Cat Food Can Stove and Metal Mesh Pot Stand – .4oz
  6. Bic Lighter – 1oz
  7. Mesh Storage Sack – .3oz

Total weight is 7.8oz

The parts of my Nut Can Solo Kit are:

  1. Blue Diamond Can with Lid – 2oz
  2. Homemade Windscreen – .1oz

  1. Hi Joslyn- looks like you’re well on your way to ultra-light. In the first video you had a concern with loosing the plastic cup used for measuring fuel, here’s a simple solution that I use and ditch the cup, save a few grams, one less thing to keep up with and have a little more room inside your pot when you pack up.
